Theme-updater seems to have been removed from the Plugin Directory and the github project indicates that it is no longer maintained.

Is this still a desired enhancement -- or could the issue be closed?
If still desired, should forking the github project be considered?

we should also probably start thinking about when/if to submit the theme to the wordpress.org themes directory because then we would be able to just manage updates that way.

Doesn't appear there is a solid lightweight option for this currently. We'll add the theme to wp.org as we get close to a 1.0 release.

Closing for now
