Upload .tex files: Can't be converted to Google Docs format --> Workaround

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. When i upload .tex files they can't be edited by Google docs and latex-lab

Workaround:
1- i replaced all my .tex files extensions by .txt
2- upload the latex .txt files while keeping the option convert to Google
docs format
3- Now they can be viewed by latex-lab and Google Docs.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Firefox 3.6.3, vista.

Question?
Is there any alternative and easier solution?

When files are uploaded to Google Docs they can be converted to documents. Only
documents are editable. This is a limitation of Google Docs/Gdata which may 
change in
the future, the ability to upload different file types is very new.
