Why would you deliberately choose to make their viewing experience unpleasant?
I wouldn't deliberately do that. In fact, every Hugo theme that I've written (including this one) is mobile friendly, or at least I have made the effort explicitly. It seems you don't bother understanding me before making your conclusion. My original words (deleted in 8537012 but not because of your comment here, because I didn't see your comment) were:
The answers are not necessarily "No," but you may want to spend some quality time on reflecting the pain and gain of each element on your website, and whether you use them because you need them or just happen to have them.
How did you conclude that I want to make the viewing experience unpleasant on mobile devices?
I was saying that the effort that we make to support mobile devices is debatable. I have made and will continue to make the effort, but it is still debatable. You may not suffer from the problem of addiction to mobile devices, and I truly admire you for that, but I don't believe being mobile friendly is mandatory for websites. It's the decision of the website owner. Neither you nor me can make the decision for them. If an owner deliberately chooses to make his/her website mobile unfriendly due to concerns about mental health problems caused by mobile devices, I'd applaud for his/her courage.
Yes, because many people use their mobile phones to look at website. Why would you deliberately choose to make their viewing experience unpleasant?
