Hey I met with same problem(no text shows up) and I solved it by adding language “繁体中文（台湾）”（Traditional Chinese）in Windows Setting-Time and Languag-Language.Good luck.

Adding character does have some problem.Maybe it's because the field “spirit ” in table “item” or “storages” doesn't have a default value.Use the default “测试01” character to play,or you can try fix the code yourself.
