== Imported Ticket ==

  • Summary: Rewrite SWIG interface for PyHDF
  • Component: yt
  • Milestone: 1.0
  • Reporter: mturk
  • Owner: mturk
  • **Resolution: wontfix
  • Status: closed
  • Created: 1189203175000000
  • Description: Right now, pyhdf_np is a modified version of pyhdf, but modified =after= the SWIG-wrapper has been generated. This should be changed, such that it is in fact a Numpyified SWIG utility.

Assuming we have a version 1.0 release, I do not foresee HDF4 being supported past 1.0. So this ticket may ultimately be resolved as "dontfix."

  • Newvalue: I have decreed that the support of HDF4 will not be worked on. It's already as good as it's going to get.
