I don't think I'm imagining this, but the green rivers of poison in Undercity used to do some damage in contact back in vanilla. I'm not sure if that changed with burning crusade or wotlk. I don't know how easy that would be to add back in though!

Thank you for the report. If someone wouldn't mind confirming that this is the behavior in Vmangos or retail Classic WoW (or I can do it myself when I find a few minutes,) then I will make this change.
I think it was before burning crusade even. I'm not sure how far back though in vanilla it was. If I've remembered wrong I apologise, and it's not totally necessary, it's just a vivid memory of having to use the bridges and low levels dying in it and alliance having a hard time hiding in it, etc.
I've done some research into this topic as well as comparisons with WoW Classic and Vmangos, and can confirm that the green slime never damaged players. You are not the only one to have thought this, though! ^_^ Thank you for bringing it up; I am hoping to make sure all flavor issues like this are correct, because changing it to remove damage does seem like the kind of change Blizzard would make.
