Allow registering using Telegram Web

I have been recommending Telegram to my friends and family and all kinds of groups wishing to have easy instant messenger as it has been easy to register using simply phone number and typing the SMS.

Two days ago I heard that it's not so simple anymore and yesterday I tested it by myself and Telegram Web complained about my second number:

Not everyone I know has Android/iPhone and some don't even have smart phone at all for privacy concerns. Others again don't have space or are very hesistant to install random apps while previously Telegram Web was easy to try without being so random.

Later I found out that it's still also possible to register using Telegram Desktop which had "please sign up with Android/iPhone or here" where the "here" let me register.

Discussing this issue with several people we reached conclusion that hopefully this is just a bug in Telegram Web rather than new unannounced policy by Telegram to require smartphones.

In case registering won't be possible with Telegram Web, could that error message also mention the possibility of using Telegram Desktop?

Nope, it's not a bug. You can't register via Telegram Web. It mentions that you can register via mobile app.

@zhukov Also got misled by this error message. I'm not familiar with Telegram, and the message had me assuming I'd need to find some workaround to sign up. Googling the error message brings this issue up as the first result, but less determined users may just give up.

I solved this problem by removing the Origin header from request. It seems the servers take me as a browser if they find the Origin header in the request.
