E4L Delay Boids

The E4L Delay Boids is a advanced spatialization effect that renders many delayed copies of an ambisonics signal into the sound field.

The Heads-Up Display shows the motion and placement of the voices. The top view is a bird-eye overhead view of the X-Y plane, and the bottom view is a profile view of the vertical X-Z plane.

The Trigger Update section controls how often the placement of the delayed voices is updated. When enabled, updates are triggered while the sequencer is running according to the specified Measures and Subdiv. The computed time is displayed alongside a manual Trigger button, which will update positions on the next sequencer tick. Offset and Probability controls specify how often updates are triggered with given phase relative to the clock.

The Delay section offers controls over the range of delay times of the voices, via Min and Max, with additional controls for fine tuning and feedback. The Pitch Field section controls re-tuning of the delayed voices with the options to pitch-shift into defined scale modes. The Filter section controls frequency-domain filtering of the delayed voices.

The Boids section offers a variety of advanced controls over the exact behavior of the delayed voices. Experiment with these controls to uncover potentially wild results. The Attract to panner point control can be used to control motion of the voices towards a central point.

The Mix section controls gain adjustments and mix of dry and wet signal sent to the output.
