  • 13:33 <demory> hey everyone, shall we get started?
  • 13:34 <demory> David T is out this week, looks like we have everyone else though
  • 13:35 <demory> my update -- Joyride app has launched for beta testers, so keeping a close eye on the national API. Otherwise, shifting focus to UI stuff -- have started leaflet_ui branch where we'll be doing initial work
  • 13:35 <demory> Will be getting into the call-taker enhancements over the next couple weeks
  • 13:36 <mele> Cool, so that's what it's going to be called then?
  • 13:37 <demory> mele, you mean what will the branch be called?
  • 13:38 <mele> no, just the OTP iphone app :)
  • 13:39 <demory> oh, sorry. Joyride is the name of the branded app we've been working on
  • 13:39 <mele> great, I like it
  • 13:40 <demory> mele, here's the website we're working on: http://joyrideit.com/
  • 13:41 <demory> note it's not actually launched to the public yet, so the "download from the app store" etc isn't actually working yet
  • 13:41 <mele> Awesome, thanks. I'm really impatient for it if you can't tell\
  • 13:41 <mele> :)
  • 13:41 <FrankP> I'm starting to work on a text version tripplanner replacement for TriMet. Been looking into translations in Pyramid (python webapp framework), an again, gettext/po files are the way to go. BTW, trimet is interested in Spanish & English initially.
  • 13:42 <FrankP> Two other things: 1) we have an otp install in Australia (see the demo page). 2) anyone know if the code for http://9292.nl/en is oss?
  • 13:42 <skywave> frankp let me answer that second one:
  • 13:42 <skywave> good joke
  • 13:43 <skywave> They're probably the main movement against open transit data in the Netherlands :)
  • 13:44 <FrankP> skywave, so that's not your site?
  • 13:44 <skywave> No
  • 13:44 -!- atogle [textual@nat/openplans.org/x-vqpdkthfjlvmkjra] has joined #opentripplanner
  • 13:44 <skywave> 9292.nl is set up by Dutch transit agencies, founded in 1992. The website only recently got upgraded
  • 13:45 <abyrd> After some long run times on the Sandy service analyst run, I parallelized the analyst batch processor.
  • 13:45 <abyrd> Now I'm tring out different search strategies that do not use the street network for transfers.
  • 13:46 <FrankP> skywave...thanks for the info (I must have mis-read some of your project updates ... was thinking that was the new site powered by OTP)
  • 13:47 <skywave> btw 9292.nl isn't running on opentripplanner.nl, it uses propietary software made by HP. You're probably referring to filewissel.nl
  • 13:47 <skywave> not HP, but T2
  • 13:48 <FrankP> So filewissel.nl is using OTP?
  • 13:48 <skywave> yes
  • 13:49 <FrankP> Any plans to open source that code (if not already)?
  • 13:51 <skywave> The frontend website is not my code. Not sure if there are immediate plans to release it, it might also be bit to specific for Dutch situation as the OTP itineraries are updated with information from the real-time planner of the railway agency (platforms at least).
  • 13:54 -!- mattyohe is now known as trangtrun
  • 13:54 <demory> FrankP thanks for the heads-up about Australia -- I'll update the map at otp.com
  • 13:54 -!- trangtrun is now known as mattyohe
  • 13:55 <demory> ok, anything else for today's check-in?
  • 13:55 <FrankP> demory, pretty exciting ... every continent except Antarctic
  • 13:55 <FrankP> (and South America ?)
  • 13:56 <demory> yeah, i don't know of any there. wonder if any SA cities even have GTFS..
  • 13:57 <mele> wasn't there someone on the list thinking about setting one up in Santiago?
  • 13:57 <FrankP> A year or so back, there were some folks from Brazil (San Paulo maybe) talking on the forums.
  • 13:59 <demory> well, still, 5 continents isn't bad!
  • 13:59 <demory> and surely we'll have one in S America eventually
  • 14:01 <FrankP> https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/opentripplanner-dev/GleFMP3oOos
  • 14:03 <demory> alright, anything else?
  • 14:04 <FrankP> I'm on vacation for the next two weeks (so see you after Thanksgiving)
  • 14:05 <FrankP> (On vacation as of next Wednesday)
  • 14:05 <demory> ok, have a good time!
  • 14:06 <FrankP> thanks...have a good Thanksgiving
  • 14:06 <mele> I'll be gone for about that time too, will return with crazy stories about Japanese transit systems
  • 14:07 -!- mele [d819d1f1@gateway/web/freenode/ip.216.25.209.241] has quit [Quit: Page closed]
  • 14:08 <demory> sounds fun. ok, I guess the rest of us will still do a chat next Thurs (the 15th), but we won't have one T-giving itself obviously
  • 14:08 <demory> so, have a good week / vacation everyone
