@SooLee We tried to update the recipe on conda, however, we gave up. Seems there are major patches for the Makefile and build.sh file necessary.
bioconda/bioconda-recipes#25030

We finally managed to make it work: bioconda/bioconda-recipes#25052
pairix should be soon available on conda on python 3.8
