Welcome to SafeKey v4.0.0! 🎉 This is our biggest visual overhaul yet. We completely rebuilt the interface from the ground up around Google's Material Design 3 and Material Motion, while keeping our offline, zero-tracker, AES-256 SQLCipher security 100% untouched.

🎨 Material 3 Dynamic Color (Monet)

  • Wallpaper Theming: If you're on Android 12 or newer, SafeKey now automatically extracts colors from your device wallpaper and tints the whole app to match your personal aesthetic!
  • Handcrafted Fallback Schemes: On devices without dynamic theming, we've tuned a gorgeous Deep Ocean (Light) and Midnight Navy (Dark) palette with high contrast and readable text.
  • Smart Status Indicators: The countdown timer ring around your OTP codes, update cards, and security warning dialogs now use unified semantic colors that look right in both light and dark mode.
  • Instant Theme Switching: Switching between Light, Dark, and System theme happens smoothly with zero lag or stale colors.

  • Shared-Axis Screen Transitions: Navigating between screens now slides and fades with standard Material 3 easing curves.
  • Live TOTP Countdown: The progress ring on each 2FA card smoothly changes color as time runs out (green ➔ amber ➔ red), giving you clear visual heads-up before codes refresh.
  • Tactile Interactions: Subtle haptics and spring animations when copying codes, reordering accounts, and tapping action buttons.

  • High-Contrast QR Export: Moving your accounts to another device? The QR exporter now sits in an optical high-contrast card so other authenticator cameras scan them effortlessly, even in low light.
  • Recovery Codes Vault: A dedicated Material 3 view for tracking backup codes, complete with strikethrough toggles when a code is used and one-tap copying.
  • Refined App Lock: A sleek biometric lock overlay that protects your vault without getting in your way.
