Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Go to Jetpack > Settings > Engagement.
  2. Open the Subscriptions card.
  3. Uncheck the 2 subscription options:

  1. Save changes. You'll get a success message, it's all good.
  2. Reload the page. The options are back.

I can't reproduce this in latest master.

Is there any timeframe for this update? I am having the same problem disabling the follow blog field - I use mailchimp and don't want to add subscribers via wordpress.org. I do want Follow Comments however. Thx.

@katykeck We don't have a fix yet, but until it's fixed you can go to Settings > Discussion in your dashboard. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you'll find the same 2 options and will be able to disable them from there.
