How to test

Virtualization: you can use it, if you prefer
Needed: an autistici.org account. Even better if you have one account from A/I that is not autistici.org
What to do: open pidgin, configure your account and connect. It should connect without complaining about certificates, nor asking you to accept certificates.
Extra: test even riseup.net or other xmpp servers

It may have been solved server-side: a/i changed the way jabberd presents certificates to clients so that now the CN conforms to what the client should expect.

at the moment certificate validation for autistici.org is broken. we should try to fix as in the first link

The problem has been magically autosolved. The certificates directory is not needed anymore. Internet wins again.
