The ergonomics release — OpenEPL reads like a modern high-level language now, on top of the same native core. Linux x86-64 and Windows x86-64 (preview) bundles.

Sugar (every feature desugars — no second semantics)

  • String interpolation: "Row {i} of {n}" folds to concat with the right per-hole conversion; {{/}} are literal braces.
  • Iteration: for i in 1..10 [step k] (inclusive, 1-based) and for each x in xs / for each k, v in d over arrays, dicts, bytes and text, with optional at i; break/continue in both.
  • Assignment: += -= *= /= mod=, &= to append text, increment / decrement.
  • Operators: text + (concat) and * (repeat), chained comparison 1 <= x <= 12 (middle evaluated once), in / not in, one-line STMT if COND, decimal underscores, trailing commas.

Studio

editbox gains a multiline toggle — off, a single-line field clamped to one row; on, a resizable text area with the vertical resize handles enabled.

More sugar (named args, match, collection literals, slicing, optionals, defer, and the rest of the brainstorm) is queued for 0.9.0.
