Vanguard recreates cinematic, brutal skirmishes between small warbands of handpicked fighters, set in the same universe as our hugely popular Kings of War wargame. Players carefully select their squad of characters then fight it out to complete life or death missions - that can help turn the tide in the battle to come!

BattleScribe is a popular, free army builder tool which allows you to define army lists for your favorite table top games.
This project contains the necessary definitions which allow you to use Vanguard as a game system within BattleScribe and allows to define rosters for your favorite warbands.
The current status is Public v1.10.
Currently supported & included:
- Basic game system rules
- Normal & small warband rosters
- All common & rare items
- All spell books
Included are ALL 22 war bands as described in the latest expansion rule book 'Vanguard Ice & Iron'. The Kickstarter included war bands have all members as stated on the cards included as well.
As of v1.1:
- Dwarf warband including all additional available units
- Mercenaries stats ( Blaine, Firebrand and Kuzlo & Maddfall ) and a new 'normal game system with mercenaries' that allows to add those mercenaries for normal games. ( Please note that this is not 'official' and thus it is best to check with your opponent whether he/she doesn't mind ).
As of v1.2:
- Forces of Nature warband including all additional available units
As of v1.3:
- Goblins warband including all additional available units
As of v1.4:
- Major update of the items with a new mechanism and all the common, rare & unique items from the rulebook and the reference cards pack
As of v1.5:
- Trident Realm warband including all additional available units
As of v1.6:
- All warbands (except for Undead ) have been updated with the latest changes of the 'Ice & Iron' supplement.
- Furthermore all warband members have their base size referenced as well now in the model stats.
As of v1.7:
- Undead warband including all new additional available units
As of v1.9:
- Abyssal Dwarfs warband including all new additional available units
As of v1.10:
- Ogres warband including all new additional available units

Battlescribe is free to use and can be downloaded here.
Once installed you can choose the game systems that you want to install and use. Look out for 'Kings of War - Vanguard'.
Important - when creating a new warband you need to fill in the points limit for your warband - eg 200 pts - this is not a required field so people sometimes tend to forget. You can still build a list but some of the rule checks will not work as these are based upon a cost limit. So do make sure to enter that limit.
