Thanks for the e-mail, it's always nice to hear when people like the plugin and find it useful. The issue with notepad++ 8.4 is known and will be fixed in the next update, you can also download the newest plugin version manually, see this other issue #23 Regards, Bas

I just saw the new release 0.4.5.2 and tested, it seems that the crash has been fixed.
However, the compatibility info is missing in Npp Plugin List. It's completed now:
notepad-plus-plus/nppPluginList@7cddde9

Thanks for adding the old-versions-compatibility tag to the list.

If I understand correctly this was a new feature notepad-plus-plus/notepad-plus-plus#11358 and it is used to filter out incompatible plugins that are installed 👍 seems like a good fix.

This Lexer v4/v5 compatibility was giving me some head-aches but it seems fixed now.
