Project Description
People's literacy is very low in reading the labels for the composition of processed food or packaging, which actually has the potential to be a risk factor for causing non-communicable diseases. According to Dr. dr. Tan Shot Yen, M. Hum, there is no other way but to educate and increase public literacy to measure the nutritional content of processed products high in sugar, salt, and fat. "The wrong understanding of nutritional intake and the practicality of life has made this country a pack eater.". The biggest example of this case is Nestle which is an international company based in Switzerland as a producer of processed food and drinks including formula milk. The Financial Times media said that a presentation from Nestle itself admitted that more than 60% of its products did not meet the recognized definition of health. that's why we made this application as a means of educating the public in choosing and buying packaged food and drinks for consumption through the image recognition feature. This application will also provide a warning to the user based on information about being able to reach all age groups, especially minors because the image recognition feature is relatively simple, easy, and interesting to use.
