Welcome to the Precision-Drawing-Tools (PDT) Wiki.

Introduction 1

This is the home of PDT on GitHub, much more work needs to be done over the coming months, particularly with this Wiki.

In the meantime, please see this website for more information:

The general plan is to get this Blender Add-on fully tested and accepted into the Blender 2.8 suite at some stage in the future. PDT will be subject to on-going development and new sections will be added to the existing:

  • PDT Design
  • PDT View Control
  • PDT Command Line
  • PDT Pivot Point
  • PDT Parts Library

As of October 2019, we are designing and building the following sections: PDT Align; a set of tools to Align geometry, PDT 2D Draw; a set of tools to produce 2D Drawings and PDT Dimension; a set of tools to Dimension either 2D drawings, or 3D models.

This part was made using PDT Design, with materials Appended from PDT Parts Library:

This is an example of the proposed 2D Draw section, only a simple drawing to show the principles:

2D Draughting

Dimensioning in this image was done with MeasureIt, this needs some "tweaks" to bring it in line with draughting standards, like gaps between dimension lines and object (these were manually edited to show the gaps). Some of the dimension lines are too long as well. These need to be brought in line with BS 308, for those of a certain age, now renamed BS 8888.
