ISIS 9.0.0 RC2 is now available

How to install or update to 9.0.0 RC2

Installation instructions of ISIS can be found in the README on our github page .

If you already have a version of ISIS 4.0.0 or later installed in an anaconda environment, you can update to 9.0.0 RC2 by activating your existing isis conda environment and running conda update isis.

How to get access to 9.0.0 at the ASC

The new process proposed in the internal RFC is now in full effect. It is available internally as isis9.0.0_RC2.

Once a version of conda is active, run the command: conda activate isis9.0.0_RC2 to use this newest version of ISIS.

• Fixed bug in the method BundleSolutionInfo::outputPointsCSV() where, when performing a rectangular (XYZ) bundle adjustment, the Lat/Lon/Radius point corrections written to points.csv are incorrect and do not match those written to bundleout.txt. Also modified the ctest FunctionalTestJigsawBundleXYZ to spot check six lines (points) in points.csv.

• Fixed a bug in isisminer in which bad (e.g. self-intersecting) polygon geometries were not treated properly. Added pertinent unit tests to GisGeometry and Strategy classes. Issue: 5612
• Fixed a bug in kaguyasp2isis that doesn't work for data with a detached label.
• Fixed FunctionalTestCamstatsDefaultParameters test by increasing the runtime speed #5459

Notes

The following operating systems are supported for this release:

• Ubuntu 18.04
• macOS Mohave 11.6

(Other Linux/macOS variants may be able to run this release, but are not officially supported.)

There are some important considerations to keep in mind when using this release candidate:

• Do not use this version for production work. A stable isis 9.0.0 release will be uploaded after a month.
• The ISIS online documentation will not be updated until the stable release is announced.
