osTicket - Prerequisites and Installation

This outline demonstrates a successful execution of the prerequisites and installation of the open-source help desk ticketing system osTicket.

Environments and Technologies Used

  • Microsoft Azure (Virtual Machines/Compute)
  • Remote Desktop
  • Internet Information Services (IIS)

Operating Systems Used

  • Windows 10 (21H2)

List of Prerequisites

  • Enable Internet Information Services
  • Web platform install
  • Set up user name and password
  • Install c++ redisputable
  • Configure permissions and install OS Ticket

Installation Steps

First, I created a resource group through Azure with a Windows 10 VM that has 2-4 virtual CPUs and allowing it to create a virtual network.

Here I have downloaded all files necessary for installation. (PHP Manager, MySQL) And configure IIS, register PHP, and then download osTicket. The reult is a successful intallation.

After download of osTicket, pictured are users and departments after successful necessary configurations. (username, password, permissions)
