Remove humanity system #885
Comments
So you are saying its too easy to get a bandit skin and too hard to lose it again? Humanity will reset to neutral over time, I guess the speed of this could be buffed. The slow rate of this means you would have to play a lot of hours in game to even counter 1 or 2 survivor kills a week. Really a survivor needs to run and or die if he wants to keep his skin, fighting is the last option. I did read in the dayz discord a while back and idea for making break in attempts flag for aggression and make open targets, was a good idea imho. The open target system could be pushed onto just firing a gun would make you an open target not just connecting shots but, would mean shots that miss a bandit would make you an open target but hitting the dirty bandito would keep you as a closed target. so not a great idea.... A visual cue for open targets would help you make the right choice when trying to decide to run or fight a survivor and don't want to risk the humanity loss . A half bandit and full bandit skin may also help distinguish the ppl who have "had a hard life and grew up in a tough area" rather than the people who are fully committed bandits. Last thing i wanna say is that if we make it easy for a survivor who has been backed into a corner and has to run with a bandit skin for a week or so to lose his bandit skin we also make it easy for all the fake heros and bandit survivors to stay out of their quite rightly diserverd bandit skin. |
For me the humanity system is a pivotal game feature and one of the main reasons why I play the mod. The day the humanity system is removed will likely be the day I quit playing. Sorry to be so direct, but I think this is a very bad idea. The humanity and self defense systems work great as they are. (I'd welcome more ways to gain small amounts of humanity, though.) |
The humanity system is one of the best things about the mod. Having a "justice system" is normal in most hardcore games were losing includes a big punishment. Removing it will solve nothing. I like how it is now. I played as a survivor for 3 years on a full server and later when I played on a server that is less populated I started playing a hero without any troubles. Noone said dayz was gunna be a picknick in the park. Zombies bite and survivors betray. Camo clothing are easy to fill up stashes with. Camoclothing is outside of the humanity system. |
Humanity system is really good feature, don't event try to remove it or you will loose large playerbase. |
Okay so i have been thinking about to remove humanity system and now i will tell you my perspective.
Everyone knows servers get all the time new players and they starts playing with a survivor skin and some of them wants to be bandits so before they are bandits they are killing on sight as survivor and you don't maybe wanna kill survivors but these guys makes you to protect yourself and of course you will lose humanity if you kill then before you die and you will become a bandit and if you are solo player there is basicallly no way to get back a survivor skin because other players gonna kill you on sight cuz you are bandit(bad person) and you gonna protect yourself so you gonna probably get more minus humanity. Without humanity system everyone can play all situations differently every time at the moment it's not possible because if you are a bandit situation will be death or prob more minus minus humanity.
