Some pistols have are held by the animation rigging with the barrel aiming down.
If you look at the sights you can see the fore sight is way below the back sight.
I guess this has been looked at before, right? Well here I am joining in.
In fact if you wanted to make pistol shooting WAY BETTER.. pointing the barrel UP
a wee bit ( the fore sight will be above the back sight a tad ) would help SO much more.
The way the vision system works in game means close things are larger than in real life.
So the POI is obscured by the actual pistol ( think about "foreshortening" etc from technical drawing back in school ).
and I mean in first person view nestled to gun sight. ( you aim with the iron sights. )
I like shooting etc and the way some pistols are set up is tragic.
So bottom line:
lift the barrel nose up a small amount so that you can see the target properly.
( it will mean doing some small mental trigonometry when aiming but it is way better than
what we have at the moment.)
Best head shot I have done in game is 150 metre with the Glock. ( if I recall correct )
But I would never bother in CQC as your target picture is mostly the back of the gun... just nope.
Is it my imagine nation or is the FOV of the player on the left side of the player? and why did some one think
this was a good idea?

Well... how do we fix it? Can we fix it? Hasn't DayZ Mod introduced new animations?
and why are some pistols ok to sight and others not? Did they not check this in QC ?
I guess there is only one pistol animation and it has to fit all the pistol types, which means some
will not fit. but then how do they orientate the pistol in the grip properly?
I wish I knew how to do this kind of stuff so I could make my own mods.
Particularly weapon grip etc.
Hello!
TLDR: Make pistols shoot up a fraction.
Not sure how deep to go but here goes nothing;
