Wallet.dat update from bhd1 to depinc help #3
Comments
Download the latest release version of DePINC and install it to your computer. Ensure the executable files are replaced on your computer then try to start the wallet again. The wallet will find nodes from internet and the block synchronization should be starting soon. Wait until the syncing procedure is finished and get the correct balance. Send all coins to the same or new address to complete the coins update. |
I am entry level learning computers. I tried dragging wallet.dat file from bhd1 to updated depinc v3.0.07 newest version. I tried dragging file to depinc-qt and opening As far as block data, I don't know how to delete block data and resynch, I just uploaded newest version and tried dragging file over. Any tips. I am green |
Is there any way to add a "restore wallet" function in gui. I watched a few tutorials on old bitcoin core console but lack ability to use js node and Java script to load in cmd prompt |
The wallet.dat is no need to update, it keeps the old format, the chain will respect the file as well. All you need to do is make sure the wallet program is synchronized with every blocks that the chain has generated and all your DePC should remain. |
Right on, Got it. Now I need to build a miner. Can I use pre plotted drives from my evergreen miner from chia or do I need to create whole new farm for depinc fork. |
You can and you should use pre-plotted drives to mine DePC. |
Fair enough. |
On April 4, negative transactions took place in the dedinc wallet, many coins were burned... at the same time, everything used to show correctly when using wallet.dat from the bhd1 wallet.. Is there any way to get them back? It's very ugly to do that... I spent money on them.. |
the community mentioned several times to migrate over before hard fork at
certain block height.

I changed my wallet from bhd1 to depinc, synchronized it, and all the coins were on balance... but I didn't make any payments, unless you can only burn coins on this, it's nonsense... |
Idk, maybe a dev could answer more technical question.

I don't see it fair too. I got some coins by mining long ago when it was just BHD and now, because I don't follow the news in X/twitter, I didn't know that the coins were going to be burnt if I don't upgrade from BHD1 to DePINC. Now that I got all these burnt, I don't feel like this network is secure to store any value. Whoever may decide to burn your coins whenever they want. If there should be any notification like this, this should have been done through the wallet itself, no through whatever social network that I may not be following. Since I don't have these coins anymore, I don't even incentive to upgrade its wallet and mine for this network. Bye-bye DePINC / BHD1. |
