Did something happened that you didn't expect? Perhaps the WIKI said something should work but it doesn't? You may have come across a bug, or the WIKI page is showing you the retail details which may not be in line with LSB's current coding.

Did I find a bug?

If you are not sure, you have a few options for checking if this is a known bug.

I'm not sure.

When in doubt, ask in Discord if you are not sure or you have a question about an open issue for LSB bug to see if that may be causing your problem.

Is this a known LSB/Demiurge Issue?

First and most common step is to check if this was already reported and is an open issue (on LSB).

Unique issues to Demiurge can be found here and the WIKI has a known issues guide.

Is this an issue with retail data vs. server era code?

For general issues, something to note is that LandSandBoat Project (or LSB for short) is not up to date with all the changes retail has had over the years, and much of the existing LSB code is tailored to an older era. This is important when you are looking at a WIKI page as most current FFXI wiki pages are displaying details and changes for the current retail version of the game. If the quest is not matching modern retail, this would need to be updated in LSB itself. You may need to check the WIKI's history page for details around the server's "Era" or game expansion time-frame. This is a good first step for situations such as quests not working.

  1. Locate the Edit button on the Wiki Page and click the down arrow to expand the options menu
  2. Select History from the sub menu.
  3. Locate an edit from around 2007 or maybe 2008-ish and start reviewing the page for details that are not in line with the details that are showing up for the retail WIKI page timeframe.

Reporting a Bug

LSB Report

For help reporting an LSB server update/bug, you can ask for help in Discord for what to include in your reports if you are not sure.

Demiurge Report

If it turns out that you found a bug, or want to offer feedback/suggestions for our server, please start here

The key thing to note is that the Admins expect that you follow the instructions to the best of your ability. So be ready to add links to Wiki pages, screen captures, names of NPCs/Mobs, etc.

  1. Access the issues tab and click on the green "New Issues" button on the top right.
  2. The page will open with the standard format for all Feedback and Issue reports.
  3. Make sure that you fill out all of the details and properly mark off the required sections for the Admins.

This is what the template of a new issue will look like

**Feedback or issue :**

REPLACE THIS TEXT
  • Fill in the details about what you are reporting by replacing "REPLACE THIS TEXT" and inserting the details.
  • In this next section, make sure you add the appropriate checkmarks by replacing the space between [ & ] so that it looks like [x] and not like [ x ] or [x ]. Alternatively, you make click the check-boxes with your mouse after submitting the issue and github will update the post for you.
<!-- BUT NOT THIS TEXT
Do not use the AT `@`symbol as shorthand!
DO NOT REMOVE OR CHANGE THE PRE-FORMATTED TEXT! -->

- [ ] **I understand that I should fill in with an x or check these boxes for yes/no**
- [ ] **I understand that using the AT `@` symbol tells github to notify a user of that name**
- [ ] **I understand that I** **_should not_** **use this form to report missing features or general bugs with LandSandBoat**
- [ ] **I understand that if this is reporting a bug specific to this server I need to be very detailed, including info such as but not limited to my position and the date and time of occurrence, any NPC or items involved, etc. etc.**

Reminder: Failure to provide information asked for in this template or removing the formatting characters may result in your issue being closed without warning or response!
