Hacktoberfest - Terms and Conditions

Welcome to the Hacktoberfest event organized by Des Vu Technologies. Before participating in this event, please carefully read and understand the following terms and conditions, which outline the eligibility criteria, PR guidelines, rewards, and other important policies.

By participating in Hacktoberfest, you agree to adhere to these terms and conditions.

Eligibility

To be eligible for participation in Hacktoberfest and to be considered for rewards, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Registration: You must be a registered participant in the Hacktoberfest event organized by Des Vu Technologies. Registration details must be accurate, including your student status and email address.

  2. Original Contributions: You are required to submit original contributions in the form of Pull Requests (PRs) to the designated Hacktoberfest repository. Copied or plagiarized code will not be accepted.

  3. Quality PRs: Your PRs should be of high quality and relevant to the project's goals. They should follow the repository's contribution guidelines.

  4. Communication: Maintain open communication with the repository maintainers for any necessary updates or changes to your PRs.

Pull Request (PR) Guidelines

When submitting PRs for Hacktoberfest, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Originality: PRs should contain original code created by you. Do not submit PRs that contain copied or plagiarized code.

  2. Relevance: PRs should be relevant to the project's objectives and goals. Irrelevant or spammy PRs will not be accepted.

  3. Follow Contribution Guidelines: Make sure to read and follow the contribution guidelines provided in the repository. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in PR rejection.

  4. Code Quality: Maintain high code quality by following best practices and code conventions. Ensure that your code is well-documented and easy to understand.

Rewards

The student who contributes the highest number of successful and original PRs to the designated Hacktoberfest repository will be eligible for rewards. The rewards may include, but are not limited to, swags, certificates, and recognition.

The specific rewards and the process for claiming them will be communicated to the top contributor directly.

General Policies

  1. Fair Play: All participants are expected to act in the spirit of fair play and integrity. Any attempts to manipulate or unfairly influence the outcome of Hacktoberfest will result in disqualification.

  2. Privacy: We respect your privacy and will use your personal information only for the purpose of event communication and reward distribution.

  3. Modification of Terms: Des Vu Technologies reserves the right to modify or update these terms and conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of any significant changes.

  4. Event Duration: Hacktoberfest is scheduled for a specific duration, and contributions must be made within this timeframe. Late submissions will not be considered.
