The custom toggle's knob breaks the toggle's border display.
Possible Solution
This issue may be related to this known webkit bug and it may be fixed (in a hacky way) by applying opacity, transforms or even filters on the wrapping element to create a new stacking context.

Tested on Mac OS Sierra 10.12.06 using Safari Version 11.0.1 (12604.3.5.1.1).
