Sometime, the fix looks trivial, yet the journey to get there hasn't been ....

This fixes #4439

Resolved the issue for me on MT12 with problem child microSD.

In the meantime, I realised a workaround was to enter the "Write Firmware" section of the bootloader before connecting the USB, then the microSD would mount consistently.
