SMS import export issue

Can anyone reproduce this issue or confirm that it is just an issue from my end or for everyone?
When I export messages from settings (SMS and MMS), it asks me for file name without .json, i usually keep default name, so the Fossify file manager pops up to select export location, and when i select one, it starts exporting and when it is completed, the exported file is without any extension!!! And okay, now when i click on import messages and go to same location (it doesn't pop up fossify file manager, instead it pops up native android files to complete this task) and the file i just exported is grayed out and i can't select it. I tried to manually add .json at the end of that file but still it is greyed out. Any possible fix or solution?? Am i missing out something?

Can you test exporting with the system app, and check if you can import the file then?

I could only try it out on an emulator with Android 8.1, and I had the problem with exporting by Fossify File Manager, but it was working fine with the built-in file manager.

I don't know what else we could do here. Please raise the bug for it, maybe someone will find a fix for it. If you can, while writing the reproduction steps, please refer to the built-in file manager.

I found some weird things... let me give update after some testings here and there.

Alright! something interesting! if i export via native android files, add .json when it asks name within native android files and if I export them to "Download' directory, it works!!! other than that, no matter what i try, it stays greyed out!!

Maybe that's the same problem as there is in Notes (FossifyOrg/Notes#13). Please raise the bug describing all your findings, so someone can try to fix it. Thanks!

Similar one yeah, except the specific directory (Downloads folder in home directory), if I export the file to some other location, it still stays greyed out.
