Version 1.2 of PlusUI brings a number of features and changes to enhance the overall experience while using the site. Many smaller changes and bug fixes have been made to make things both look AND feel smoother and more consistent.

Open Demo v1.2

Control Panel

  • You can now swipe on the time/date card to show the control panel on touchscreens
  • Fixed broken links in aboutMe
  • Removed compact mode experiment
    • All code and references have been removed
    • Impractical when implemented

Shelf

  • You can now tap the wallCard to expand/collapse the shelf
  • Removed separate expand/collapse button
  • Refined shelf label for better readability
  • Shelf label now appears in the wallCard while hovering
  • Refined shelf collapse/expand animations
  • New option to dock the shelf
    • Expands shelf to full-screen width, aligning to bottom left
    • Black gradient backdrop, no collapsed mode
    • wallCard changes to indicate docked shelf

Cards

  • Actionable cards (e.g. Shortcuts) will no longer shrink when interacting
  • Refined wallCard buttons
  • Reworked tilt API in preparation for card creator template access
  • Cards now have a ‘lift’ animation when hovered, though this will likely change (again) in the future
  • Restructured weather and shortcut cards
  • Debug cards
    • Renamed to experimental cards
    • New Siri animation card
    • New Futur3Sn0w parallax card
  • Card states
    • ‘Parallax’ card for 3D cards
    • ‘Normal’ cards for basic information
    • ‘Actionable’ cards for links and other controls

Misc

  • Created a consistent style and size for inputs and sections
  • Fixed dark-mode colors
  • Made clickable elements more obvious

Shelf

  • Hiding/showing cards in edit mode now works properly
  • The shelfLabel will no longer appear when hovered on the wallCard
  • wallCard
    • No longer scrolls with other cards
    • No longer closes shelf when clicking on buttons
    • Buttons are now much more visible and show by default on touchscreens
  • Further refined animations when transitioning between states (close/open, left/center/right, docked)
  • Fixed the vibration glitch that would show when closing the shelf
  • Fixed horizontal overflow in all states (close/open, left/center/right, docked)
  • Fixed a handful of bugs with the new docked mode

Control Panel

  • Reworked slideout animation
  • You can now tap or click the timeDate panel to open the aboutMe
  • The version number is now shown in the timeDate panel

Known bugs

  • Shelf may appear buggy or glitched at times. Try force-reloading (Shift+Refresh) to fix.

Open Demo v1.2.2

Fixes

  • Shelf no longer moves up and down while opening/closing
  • Unsplash backdrop filter now restores any previous filter used

Changes

  • New ‘Notes’ card
    • Click in the white space below the card to type notes
    • Changes are saved automatically
    • Follows site theme
  • New ‘Card parallax effects’ toggle
    • Disabling will make effected cards lift upwards instead of using parallax effect
  • Reworked parallax animation with new provider
  • Implemented finalized shelf label design
    • Current Unsplash filter appears when hovered over the shelf
    • Early implementation, there will be bugs
    • Touch support is spotty but fixes are coming

Fixes

  • Fixed a recurring issue that would cause the wallpaper auto-refresh to fail
  • Fixed touchscreen shelfLabel
  • Fixed shelfLabel in collapsed shelf state
