SteamVR fatal error if launched offline #87
Comments
win or lin? Mac doesn't support VR. if lin either try using the legacy build of steamvr or the beta build, both in the betas section of steamvr's settings. |
Windows. I recently got my internet back and it's working with no issues. Before, (the only thing changing being internet), it would give me a fatal error, and now it works. |
To my knowledge steamvr does not utilize the internet, this must be a steam
blocker thing. It's very troubling for the future of VR especially for
those with weak internet connections.

Yeah, pretty weird. It seems to be specific to this as all other games I tried had no issues. |
You know what I might be, steamvr might not like the -insecure flag, you
have that flag set right?

Yeah, I do. |
Okay then it doesn't make any sense why it was crashing, did you try it
multiple times to ensure that it wasn't a one-off bug?

Yes, I rebooted after testing a few times and it still happened after. |
Then steamvr is completely logical especially whenever it comes to mods. In my experience in Linux I've never had issues. This could just be a Windows issue. |
No clue why this happens. Additionally, there is an error about the game refusing to connect to VR (not currently home with exact error). Weirdly, it only happens when controllers are connected.
