Hello

First please forgive my ignorance but I am a Linux and Github noob so I am trying to figure both of these out. Anyway...

When I use Guake, press Alt+Tab and go to my desktop, Guake is gone. When I press F12 it wont appear again. When I start Guake again it wont appear either. I have to reboot Ubuntu to use Guake again.

I saw this bug report: #45 and the last comment says it is fixed in 0.5. Thats weird because I got Version: 0.7.0-1webupd8trusty0 and it still has the bug.

Thanks

I have no issue with guake. What are you conf in the settings panel (you can post a image here). How can it be reproduced?

I made a small video that demonstrates the problem: https://vid.me/VCp1

It also includes my settings panel.

spent 2 hours on it. This happens when you have guake opened and click on Show desktop. This happened before, but the work arround we use don't work anymore (ubuntu 14.10)

For unknown reason, the window manager doesn't accep to "deiconify" guake, probably because its main window is in "skip_taskbar_hint" and "skip_pager_hint" state. When removed, it works but there is always an icon in the taskbar. Can't get it work....

Ah I see, so there is no fix for the time being?

Thanks for the quick responses btw!

I got the same problem today. Have you ever found the way to fix it ?

This is tricky. It is a GTK thing, guake cannot focus itself back once minimized, maybe a bug in gtk binding... if it has been minimized by the window manager it cannot restore itself.

I can confirm that it happens on Ubuntu 15.04 too (vivid).
I need to close guake from taskbar and then run it again.

Confirm it happens for me in ubuntu 15.04 as well. Would really love a fix or workaround.

This has become so annoying that I've stopped using Guake.

Please use hide on focus loss. I never experience this issue since guake closes itself as soon as I leave the window. I also recommend you to open a bug to ubuntu/compiz that makes almost impossible to force the restoration of a window once minimized

Unable to reproduce and last report 6 years ago, I suspect may have been incidentally fixed in one of many library updates since then. Can reopen if still happens.
