artifacts on desktop, laptop no #1563
Comments
Artifacts on playback? If you play the "converted on desktop" file on the laptop, are the artifacts there? If you play the "converted on laptop" file on the desktop, is the video clean? |
if converted on desktop and reproduced on the laptop the artifacts are there. if instead converted from the laptop and reproduced on the desktop there are no artefacts |
Got a log for the encode on the laptop for comparison. |
If you use the mpeg4 encoder, do you still get the artefacts on the encode? My guess is this might be some kind of bug in the x264 encoder, so switching to another encoder would either boost that theory, or disprove it. |
the artifacts are there on all the encoders, also mpeg4 |
Try disabling QSV decoding in the preferences. |
even if it is disabled there are artifacts |
Can you provide a sample of the original source? Seems the provided MKV are HandBrake's output. |
I created a ticket on FFmpeg's bug tracker, thank you for the useful sample! |
This issue is now fixed in commit 5282db59 in ffmpeg |
Merged, thanks for following up @talih0! This will make it into HandBrake 1.2.0 (soon). |
when I convert the video to the desktop you can see those artifacts, but if you convert it with a laptop it does not happen
