Welcome to the SAM_Revit wiki!

SAM_Revit is a part of the OpenSource SAM plugin.

How to use it:

Our connection with Revit starts with the version 2020.2. You can currently use the Dynamo Revit and Grasshopper on Rhino7Inside, versions 7.0.20314.3001 and 09/11/2020.

We now also support pushing and pulling SAM objects from and to Revit.

Issues and requirements

  1. Supports SI units.

  2. When I was once setting up the model with shared coordinates, the elements were imported in the wrong places. This could happen again, therefore please try to link the architect model using the Internal Origin to Internal Origin.

  3. Due to the difference of units, please make sure that before starting, you first set the Project units -> to Length and Meter

  4. Also, make sure that you first close Grasshopper and Rhino before Revit, otherwise Revit could potentially crash.

  5. Please use this SAM template as your Revit template.

  6. Before pushing from SAM to Revit, it may be better to first run the component SAMAnalytical.RevitCheck, to check if there are any warnings, or errors. This eliminates the risk of having any problems whilst pushing to Revit.
