TF2 HUD UPDATING GUIDE

This guide is meant to cover all the major TF2 hud updates from 2011/2012 to current date! The guide will be slipt into 3 main sections:

• Mandatory Updates
• Main Updates
• Optional Updates

Click on each update name in order to go to the desired page. The updates are not in a particular order!

BEFORE WE START

To complete most of the steps of this guide you will need the Default Hud Files which can be downloaded HERE

Also consider downloading and using Notepad++ if you are not already, it will make the job a lot easier!

MANDATORY UPDATES

These are a must do in order to make the hud launch/work properly and reduce the crash chances to none!

• Add the Info.vdf file (MYM/Jungle Update 2016 -2017)
• Update the Animations (release – current day)
• Update the HudLayout (release – current day)
• Update the Clientscheme (release – current day)
• Remove all the outdated files that might cause crashes (MYM Update 2016)

MAIN UPDATES

Mainly aimed to update all the often used files like Scoreboard, Main Menu, Timers etc... This section also covers some smaller stuff that not everybody will feel the need to have so feel free to skip the updates that don't suits you!

• Fix the Main Menu (MYM/Jungle Update 2016 -2017)

• Fix the MatchStatus and Timer (MYM Update 2016)

• Fix the Scoreboard (MYM Update 2016)

• Fix the Tournament Panel (MYM Update 2016)

• Fix the WinPanel (MYM Update 2016)

• Fix The Vaccinator UI (Mecha Update 2012)

• Add the new weapons Meters and Counters (Jungle Inferno Update 2017)

• Fix the chat positioning (Summer 2020 Update)

• Add a killstreak counter if missing (Two Cities Update 2013)

• Add a 3D Player Model if missing

• Add the missing status icons (release – current day)

• Add the support for the new war paints menu (Jungle Inferno Update 2017)

• Fix the NEW ITEM FOUND Panel (Jungle Inferno Update 2017)

• Fix the missplaced MvM Money (Smissmas Update 2022)

• Fix the invisible loadout/backpack menus (64BIT Update 2024)

OPTIONAL UPDATES

Optional updates as the mentioned files will most likely already work fine but they might have some annoying overlap and cut-off problems.

• Fix the CharInfoPanel.res and StorePanel.res Tabs
• Fix the Spectator Item Panels
• Fix the Floating Health Cut-Off Problems
• Fix the Class Selection player model transparency
