File Reingest from UI doesn't work

What steps does it take to reproduce the issue?
Clicking Uningest and then Ingest on the file page fails to recreated the ingested versions of files. It does show the ingest job being queued but that job does nothing. Investigation in the logs/code shows that the ingest status for the file is not getting set correctly due to changes being made on one copy of the DataFile object in the file page and a different copy of that object being saved before the ingest launches.
