See which locations have HPG currents that exceed a threshold.
Smooth these points (not sure how. I think @oceandie will have to guide this).
In AMM7 used rmax=0.04 for smoothing.
Retest for HPG errors.
UPDATED This happens for the P0.0 bathy AND with the new improved bathy file
