didn't update the patch file (yet?) because it seems to be very outdated. running make gen-lua-tree changes lots of other files.

Yeah I noticed that as well when #44 was addressed. On the surface it looked mostly like header changes and some code changes brought in by library updates which utilize the pessimistic operator for dependency versions.
