Not Arch Linux?

These files are basic configurations for some programs, so OS doesn't matter.

But package names can be different in other distros that are not arch-based,
so we can tell that a change like this code down below,
IS NOT IDEAL, and is not supported in dot.sh:

$ pacman -S i3-gaps
=>
$ apt install i3-gaps

So you need to read manual througly and install packages for your distro,
maybe you can make a pull request for a different package manager support :)
