As suggested by @simplyianm (AlbireoX) over at http://forum.movingblocks.net/threads/multiple-jumping-hopping.326/ - current behavior is jumping once if you hold down the jump key but some players likely will prefer continuous jumping while holding down the jump key. Should be doable as an easy toggle in the options UI.

No. Convention over configuration!

Well we can't do both by convention :D

Hopefully we'll make the world substantially less jumpy via other means later, so it'll probably become less of an issue regardless of the behavior :-)

No, I mean only allow the hopping. It's normal. Nobody will complain if you add it in and make it the only option.

"Nobody will complain" ? How long have you been on the internet? Hehe :-)

I'm personally a fan of the single-hop, especially if more meaning is attached to the act of jumping (bonuses, stamina draw, etc). If it was purely to remain a light-hearted expression of jumpy joy I could get on board the hoppy train more easily.

Well, that's why you're not supposed to hold down the spacebar after you jump once if you only intend to jump once.

Oh, came across a good comment on this in a design doc from a little while ago: Not doing the auto-jump on space thing allows us to use holding space down for something else (like charging up jump intensity or so)

Oh, interesting. Well, then make it an option :)

Going over old issues - closing this in favor of making space behave differently based on the duration of the key press sometime in the future :-)
