Adblock Warning Removal List no longer supported on uBlock Origin #359
Comments
I thought the change wasn't released to stable yet? |
I'm still evaluating the usefulness of that filter. I haven't decided exactly what to do yet, I'll make a decision when the next uBO stable release comes out. For the meantime, it's up to you. If you are fine with the side effects of the uBlock annoyance filter, then yes, that's definitely better. See my previous comment on this topic: jspenguin2017/uBlockProtector#954 (comment) |
If you choose to use the AWRL, you can forcefully subscribe to it with the link below: |
im sorry, when I made this question, I did so when I was dead ass tired, eyes throbbing in "LETMESLEEP" pain. im running ublock origin 1.29.3b15, on desktop and firefox android |
that link worked. Request that on the Nano Defender page extra steps, that link replaces the current AWRL extra steps link until such a time that you truly decide it isnt needed anymore |
The current link should work for the latest stable release of uBO. For people using beta, a quick search should lead them to this issue. I still need some time to think about what to do, I'll make a final decision when the next stable release comes out. |
I had a problem trying to get the warning removal list on ublock origin, so I yeeted myself to the ublock origin reddit, inquired on "why it do dis", and the dev said, tho not exactly as I'm typing it "thing is basically fukin useless now, the other filters can pick up slack". Here's a Link to the topic for further clarification
So if the current ublock filters really do better than this warning removal list, do we even need it on the extra steps portion for firefox/chrome/edge/"whatever other browser im missing" usage anymore?

Here's my current ublock settings, I do warn tho, a good chunk of the custom rules I set in here contain NSFW URLs
