All good from skimming through I feel like I can understand it ! Will it find its way to the arena files ?

I made a bigger arena and put a fly in it. The next step is to implement a biologically plausible controller for plume tracking.

@stimpfli BTW, this shows a clear turning bias still in the new steps (DN drive [1, 1] throughout for 5 seconds).
