Trying to get my head wrapped around our DGS version upgrade options and Spring Boot 2.7 is currently not an option for my company at this time. I don't see an attached issue or anything describing the reason why it was decided for DGS at 5.5 and higher to require consumers to be at Spring Boot 2.7 and higher, any chance someone can provide a little color on that subject? |

Hi Jon - Most of our application at Netflix have switched over to Spring
boot 2.7 and we are preparing to migrate slowly to Spring Boot 3.0 in the
coming year. The switch to 2.7 is to ensure the framework is at least one
version behind the latest version, which is Spring Boot 3.0. From a
maintenance standpoint, we cannot effectively support older versions with
new features and bug fixes. Also Spring Boot 2.7 update should be
fairly seamless as there aren't really any major breaking changes. Hope
that helps clarify things. The libraries we depend on have also started
moving forward and so it is primarily a question of how to ensure we have
the latest version supported.
You can continue using 5.5 if that is an issue, it's just that new
features and bug fixes won't be available. Thanks for reaching out, and
