Default white Icons in light gray background map do not contrast

[josemi73]

Hello
I would like to know if there is a mechanism to change the white icons in another colour, because I am using images with light gray background map and the icons over it don't have enough contrast:

In the past I changed manually in the files, but when I update the theme, changes are lost.

It would be nice if an alternate colour theme with darker icons would be possible. And I do not like the purple either.

Thank you for creating this theme.

Where are your icons coming from? That looks like some custom dashboard element to me.

Purple is the Home Assistant color for blinds/covers/curtains so that's why its like that.

I think I am using the default icon set. mdi...
i.e.:

That's not what I mean. Why are there just icons floating in the middle of nowhere, in front of a picture? 😅

Is that a picture elements card?

Here you go, add this to the end of the YAML of your card:

card_mod:
  style: |
    ha-card {
      --state-icon-color: black;
      --state-icon-active-color: black;
      --paper-item-icon-color: black;
      --primary-text-color: black;
    }

wow, thank you very much for your magic. I do not need edit the yaml files anymore then.

yes, it was a picture element card

EDIT:
After adding --state-cover-active-color, my cover has changed too to black.
ha-card {
--state-icon-color: black;
--state-icon-active-color: black;
--paper-item-icon-color: black;
--primary-text-color: black;
--state-cover-active-color: black;
}
