Question about use of New-OSBMediaISO with custom WIM images #22
Comments
Oops I now realize that I cannot import custom WIMs in OSDBuilder, let alone creating an ISO for them... Best, |

Hallo,
I did clearly mention I do not want/need OSDBuilder to work with custom wim images.
I was only asking if the create ISO function could be modified to allow creating an ISO from a custom image.
This could be separate from OSDBuilder as far as I’m concerned.
Thanks,
Bavo

If you are considering using your Reference Image or any Customized WIM in OSDBuilder, you should be aware that OSDBuilder was not designed to work this way. Expect bad things to happen. I won't elaborate on this further, and questions about this will probably be ignored. There are no plans to include support for importing modified images

I know/understand OSDBuilder is not meant for importing custom WIMs.
However I really like the easy ISO creation facility (for use in VMs mostly) and would also like to use it for other images, eg custom boot/repair images for instance. I mean only the ISO creation functionality.
Is this possible, eg could this function be used on any WIM without importing into OSDBuilder proper, or could it work if we do not do anything to the imported image except immediately creating the ISO? Thanks for any useful info regarding this.
I wish WIMwitch would have implemented an ISO creation facility, but I don't think it's a priority ;-(.
Thanks for the great work, much appreciated.
Bavo
