Current date was used as default in "planned_return_date" field. This has no sense, the field is now kept empty if not filled manually.
This method did use a hard coded connection to the database. This has been changed and it now uses the CodeIgniter database connection.

The name of the database was hardly coded in this method and differs from the name of the hoster's database. Suppressed this information from the code.
