OK, it's a beta so there might be many factors in play. However just starting a project and importing the package - something that's always worked before now doesn't do a thing. No errors, no complaints. Can't open the Space Navigator window and there's no response when using the device.

Hey Graham,
I'm currently on holiday, but I'll have a look at it when I get back.
Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks, it's just a heads-up really. It's not the only thing that doesn't
work in the new beta.
Your support for Spacenavigator is really appreciated. Thank you very much
for what you've done.

It's odd. I was using it on a machine with 5.4b22 with a space pilot pro and it was working fine.
Now on a different machine with a space explorer and it doesn't work. Luckily I can go back to 5.3 for the moment.

Thanks for the work Patrick!

Ouch! 3DConnexion have just updated the SpaceNavigator driver to 10.4.4
and it seems to have broken your plugin.

I'm not getting anything from SpaceNavigator.Translation - this is for the
runtime. It still works fine in the editor.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Also just got a SpaceNavigator and trying to get it to work in Unity. But I can only zoom in and out so I guess it's not working (yet). Might be related to that driver as well? I can see the SpaceNavigator window but regardless of what I configure I can only zoom but no rotation/tilt/other movements (also tested a few configurations in the SpaceNavigator settings for Unity, didn't change anything).

Happy to provide more information or test stuff.

OS: Win10
Unity: 5.3.5f1
3DxWare 10 version: 10.4.4
3DxWinCore version: 17.4.4.13133
Device: SpaceNavigator (firmware v 4.35)

Thanks for providing that plugin, much appreciated! :)

Older versions of the Spacenavigator driver are available on the 3dconnexions site. Try uninstalling 10.4.4 and use 10.4.3 That works nicely with Unity

Did a bit of testing today and found that the latest 3DxWare (10.4.4) doesn't work, but older versions work fine with Unity 5.4 beta.
Here's what worked for me (both editor navigation and at runtime) :

  • Windows 10
  • Unity 5.4.0b24
  • SpaceNavigator driver 1.5.1
  • 3DxWare 10.2.8 and 10.4.3 (both 64 bit)
  • 3DxWinCore 17.2.8.11657
  • Spacemouse pro firmware 10.4.4

Shot 3DConnexion a mail, asking for info (and some updated .net sample code).

3DConnexion replied that there's a bug in 10.4.4 and which they fixed in 10.4.5 (which isn't out yet)

Just installed 10.4.5 which is available now and everything works perfectly! Thanks for making this awesome plugin!
