This PR merges the Alt-FFI-libffi implementation of FFI, which is based on FFI::Platypus and libffi instead of using ffcall. The primary rationale for doing this is that libffi and FFI::Platypus are maintained, and ffcall has been abandoned. Another plus for libffi over ffcall is that it has a better license and is not encumbered by the GPL.
