Hi guys,

few days ago I found this RSS Bridge channel and it did looks really interesting (I like rss feeds and wish that all websites would support that by themself) and wanted to try this out right away. I was testing some RSS bridges from the list (bridge01) and was also trying to create any custom bridges using "CSS Selector Bridge" and all seems to work pretty nice on first view and tests. I'm using a desktop RSS feed application where I can add my feeds and I also did add few feeds from RSS bridge and few customs I made with it. Now after few days of testing I see a problem with some of the bridge feeds I did added into my RSS feed app. The most feed channels adding always the same posts everyday. Why? Normally they should add only new posts if there are any new or adding nothing but in this case its always adding the same posts again & again everyday and this is pretty bad. Just wanna ask what the problem is in this case and how to prevent that? Maybe you can help and tell me.

Other RSS bridges are working correctly without that problem to add same old posts again & again like the Rutube bridge. I was testing that one and adding a channel and this does just adds new posts what means it does work right. So what is the different? What I have to do to make other listed bridges (bridge01) & (CssSelectorBridge) working same good as the Rutube bridge to get just new posts added into my RSS feed tool? Thanks.

There are different bridges you can try out like the Pornhub one. First problem here is that the show thumbnails function is not working what mean no thumbs are showing and just working to show titles. Now I do import that created bridge URL (atom format) into my RSS Feed application and it works so far (to see titles but without an image) but on next day when I update this feed it will read all same posts again as I told already. Another example I get same problem is when using & create custom CSS bridge like this one (found here in a post)...
Digital Foundry
Bridge below..
https://rss-bridge.org/bridge01/?action=display&bridge=CssSelectorBridge&home_page=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eurogamer.net%2Ftopics%2Fdigital-foundry&url_selector=.link_overlay&content_selector=article&content_cleanup=script, div.breadcrumbs, div.headline_details, div.metadata, div.mypop-header-wrapper, div.social_share&title_cleanup=+%7C+Eurogamer.net&format=Atom

I did import that one too and its adding also old posts which are already present. Just have a look on this image I made...
Bridge_2023-09-21_225416
...as you can see it does add 10 posts each time. Yesterday 10 and today also 10 with 7 old one and 3 new one instead of just adding only the newest / latest 3 posts only. So this happens all the time also with other bridges I made but only exception is the Rutube bridge which is working correctly and just adding new posts only. Also if you check the creation / erstellt timestamp then you see its adding the time / date when I did import the RSS feed / update it and it does not use the timestamp when the post was made like it does in normal case when using RSS feeds from websites like youtube etc. In case of Rutube bridge its also using the right timestamp when the video was posted. Below a example & image of a Rutube channel number...
23485088
...
Bridge2_2023-09-21_225416
...and as you can see the creation timestamps are of the video posts itself not of the update I did (F5) for this channel yesterday & today etc. The question is how to make it work to update the items correctly (same as Rutube) without adding old posts again and again everyday?

Another question: How to make it work to use different CSS elements? I would like to set title, description & image like you can set on politepol website. Is that doable with CSS Selector Bridge? Thanks.

please discuss a single bridge and a single problem at the time.

create a new issue where you provide a url to a bridge with duplicated feed items appearing in your feed reader.

also which feed reader are you using
