Chip flashed, showing up in MA, red light on in the TOSLINK TX, but no sound from the speakers?

I'm wondering if there's something I'm doing wrong, but I have no idea how to troubleshoot this issue. Also, the range on these chips in my place is terrible it seems. Any thoughts on what I can/should check?

hard to tell with the limited information, assuming you put it together correct and used the correct yaml, be sure the cable is working (light in the other end) and verify reciever/amplifier works with toslink and other devices..

Went through three transmitting headers before I realised, I had wired it into port 3 not port 4 on the esp board. Check the headers and work back from 6 here (facepalm)

Also doesn't hurt to add some glue to insulate the legs of the transmitter - they're close and can brush
