Originally opened as RequestPolicy/requestpolicy#372

I use Fx20.0.1 and Requestpolicy 1.0b3

I installed the extension : RSS Icon in url bar
https://addons.mozilla.org/zh-CN/firefox/addon/rss-icon-in-url-bar/?src=api
to show RSS icon in Fx url bar.

Enter a RSS url, and a RSS icon shows,
when I click the icon to subscibe, no effect happened.

After disable Requestpolicy, RSS icon subscription will work.

Double-clicking the icon makes it work (just as double-clicking magnet links works and such).

This really needs to be fixed, it took me a year to find that double-clicking works and that RP causes it.

This problem does not just affect the "RSS Icon in URL Bar" extension. It affects the brower's native RSS button as well, and it persists in Firefox 28.0.
I thought it might be that RequestPolicy is blocking requests to/from about:feeds. I've tried adding rules that could allow requests to/from about:feeds to troubleshoot it, but since RP automatically adds :// after the scheme, about:feeds can't be added that way, and simply adding about:feeds as the host does not fix the problem.
Double-clicking the button only works on websites that only have one feed, making the button itself clickable. On places like flickr that offer a choice of RSS or Atom feeds through the drop-down menu, double-clicking is impossible. The button is not made to be double-clicked. Therefore, disabling blocking with RP is the only workaround.

@xunxun1982 @TheRealFaziri @madderbomber version 1.0.beta8 contains a workaround against this bug, so I close this issue. For details take a look at issue #447, it aims to solve this problem cleanly.
